VBS – 2024
It’s that time of year to prepare for VBS! It will be July 14-18 from 6:30PM – 8:30PM. This year’s theme is Camp Firelight! Our VBS is open to children from age 4 through 5th grade. Come join us for a summer camp adventure with God! The main bible verse is “Whenever I’m afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3. Each day the kids will hear a bible story on how people trusted God in the face of their own fears and went on to do great things. Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday, March 30, 2024
Beginning at 10:00AM we are having a community egg hunt for children in 5th grade and under. Easter is a great time of the year to reach out to our community in sharing the good news that we have a risen savior! Invite your family, friends, and neighbors to our fun and impactful Easter Egg Hunt!

Fall Festival/Car Show – Our community outreach fun day is Saturday, October 7. The festival will be from 10AM-2PM. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors and enjoy free food and drinks, fun events for the kids, craft/yard sale, and more.
- We will have a chili cook-off this year.
- Our annual car show will begin at 10AM. Pre-registration is preferred – please call the church and leave your name, phone #, and type of vehicle you are entering. We ask that all cars be here around 9:00AM.
- We will need donations of cakes for a cake walk.
- We would also like donations of wrapped candy (no hard candy) for a candy scramble for the children.
- If anybody wants to reserve a table to sell crafts or yard sale items, please let Shawna Crone know asap. The craft/yard sale tables will be set up in the Fellowship Hall.
- Bring a few canned goods to the Fall Festival as we will be collecting items for New Hope Ministries.

VBS – Stellar: Shine Jesus’ Light! This adventure includes exciting music, creative crafts, tasty snacks, and each day kids launch into field-tested rotations that reinforce relevant Bible points and immerse kids in new adventures. Our Stellar adventure will take place from 6:30 to 8:30PM on July 16-20 (Sunday-Thursday). VBS is open to children from age 4 through 5th grade. Bus Trip to Bible Museum
TOUR THE BIBLE MUSEUM, WASHINGTON, DC with Chestnut Grove Church Tuesday, August 8, 2023 – leave church at 7:30 am and arrive back at church at 8:00pm. Plan a day of fun day learning A LOT about the bible and different artifacts. Enjoy an hour with our private tour guide, Jay Smith. Cost: $80.00 adults to 13 years old; ages 5-12 $72.00, which includes Wolfs bus line, museum fee and dinner at Mountain Gate. Snacks, drinks and fun trivia with prizes will make our 2 hour trip go fast. Please sign up ASAP. We need to have a count of those interested by Monday, May 15. There is a sign-up sheet in the lobby at Chestnut Grove or you can contact Tammy Strayer. Money will not be due till July 1 and we will provide financial assistance where need. COME AND ENJOY AND SEE ALL THE BIBLE HAS TO OFFER.

Join us for an afternoon of fun after worship Sunday, March 12, 2023. Bring your favorite board game; there will be hobbies/crafts shared for all to learn about; and the Outreach Team will provide a light lunch of pizza pretzels, fruit cups, chips, cookies, and drink. Invite your friends, families, neighbors, and co-workers as all are invited (youth and adults).

Fall Festival/Car Show – September 24, 2022
Thanks to everyone who donated food and helped make our Fall Festival/Car Show a great success! We had 10 vendors of crafts and yard sale tables set up in the fellowship hall, plus Members 1st, New Hope Ministries, and Wigs & Wishes. Our car winners were 1st place – Blain Bargo (’54 Chevy Pickup); 2nd place – Tom Firestone (’50 Willey’s Jeep Pickup); and 3rd place – Tom Chiricos (’55 Pontiac).

Registration is now open for Vacation Bible School 2022 Discovery on Adventure Island: Quest for God’s Great Light! This adventure includes exciting music, creative crafts, tasty snacks, fun recreation, and memorable Bible stories that will help children know and share the light God shines in the world. Our island adventure will take place from 6:30 to 8:30PM on July 17-21. VBS is open to children from age 4 through 5th grade. The Outreach committee is planning a bonfire fun event for the community here at the church Friday, May 20. Come join us for a campfire, singing, s’mores, hotdogs and fellowship. Chestnut Grove IS the light on the hill, sharing the love of Jesus Christ! Join us together to make this light burn brighter for all to see!
Westward Road Band Concert – Saturday, April 30 at 6:00PM
Providing a unique blend of gospel and modern worship music is where Westward Road excels. Westward Road is an exciting and dynamic family trio, led by Scott Roberts, a 20 year veteran worship leader and nation charting songwriter, and his wife, the talented and award winning vocalist, Kelli Roberts. Their son, Garrett Roberts completes the superbly gifted musical family with his smooth vocal tones.
Their “out of the box” take on worship and gospel music paired with their God given ability to communicate the Good News takes audiences into the presence of God in a very powerful way. They have performed for audiences in large theaters and for intimate settings in rural churches, festivals and fairs.
A Westward Road concert leaves you uplifted by their message of hope and encouraged to live a life of trust in God. Their new take on gospel music along with their smooth family harmonies and ability to lead God’s people into His presence through worship will have audiences of all ages falling in love with this fun and energetic trio.

Easter Egg Hunt – April 3, 2021 at 10:00AM
The Outreach team is having a Community Egg Hunt Saturday, April 3 at 10:00AM for children in 5th grade and under. We are looking for the following help: Wrapped candy (no hard candy), monetary donations to purchase candy, help filling eggs after worship March 21 and March 28 (no eggs are needed; we have plenty from past years), and helpers/greeters/guides/egg hiders the day of the event (please contact Dee Gerber). Invite your family, co-workers, friends, and neighbors to our Easter Egg Hunt event! We do request that CDC guidelines be followed with mask wearing for the safety of others.
